From 2016 November (in reverse order)

2017 September: House groups were revived and called 'Life Groups'. During the term the members read and discussed Pauls Letter to the Philippians. Derek led the meetings and the social aspect of the evenings combined with the informative nature proved to be a good mix.

2017 Summer: The PCC committees were revamped slightly and renamed teams. More social events were requested and so the Social Team planned a year of events, including a Lent quiz night, fish and chip supper, curry night and the continuation of the film club. Every second Tuesday in the month the usual communion service was followed by coffee in the church as a a social get-together. St James's Ramblers was formed, with occasional two mile walks ending with pub lunches. Children's parties were held, including a paddling pool tea party in the vicarage garden, a teddy bears picnic, a late summer party, a celebration of light as an alternative to Halloween and an Epiphany party.

2016 November: The Revd Derek Winterburn became our tenth vicar on 8th November 2016. Read about Derek on the page Our vicar.
