On Sunday 30th October 2005 the Bishop of Kensington
threw open the new doors and led the community into church for Parish
Communion.

The planning and building of the west porch extension
between 2002 and 2005, with its glass doors, gives a view of the whole
length of the nave and the chancel. The floodlighting of the altar lights
up the interior of the church and so enhances the 'Open Door' aspect
of the project.
The name, 'Opening Our Doors', is synonymous with the aims of the project
and in particular helped to achieve one of the key Mission objectives,
that of supporting the growth of newcomers, those on the periphery and
regular attendees.
The ongoing life within the church can now be seen from the road and
shows that it is an open and active organisation.
The west porch also provides a place for the administrative work of
the parish to be securely and effectively undertaken, and allowed the
church to be staffed and open much more of the time.
To find out how and why the project, 'Opening Our Doors', started and
to follow its development, including problems incurred along the way,

West Porch.
