HISTORY OF ST. JAMES'S CHURCH |
|
Nearly all the Teachers were present and took charge of their classes. The Entertainment consisted chiefly of a Magic Lantern Exhibition by Mr. Bridger. The pictures were shown by limelight, and were in most cases photographs taken by Mr. Bridger himself. The children were dismissed with a bun and an orange, and went home apparently thoroughly satisfied with their evening’s entertainment. I am very anxious that the Sunday School should have an attendance more in proportion to the Day School than it has at present. I fear there are many children who do not go to any Sunday School at all, and I would beg all parents to take care that their children form the habit of regular Sunday observance while they are young. Habits formed in early days are rarely entirely lost. I believe one of the most valuable possessions we can secure to our children is a set of good habits, and there is nothing that they will one day be so grateful for.
