Halo |
A bright light, usually
circular and positioned above or behind a saint's head. |

to be 'holy' if it is dedicated to God. |
| Holy Communion |
Another name for the Eucharist.
The central act of Christian worship, thanksgiving, the receiving of
the consecrated bread and wine as in Eucharist. See the page Holy

| Holy Matrimony |
Another term for Christian
marriage. See the page Marriage. |
| Holy Saturday |
The day after Good Friday, and on which paschal candles
are lit to overcome the darkness of death. See the page Holy

| Holy Spirit |
(Or Holy Ghost). For Christians,
God has three 'aspects' - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit. This is called the doctrine of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit
came down to the disciples at Pentecost and to Jesus at his baptism.
