LENT 2010 AT ST. JAMES'S
FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT
22 February to 7 March. Please take a look at the display in church, fill in a Make it Fair card and pop it in the box. And please think about what staple product you can swap to be Fairtrade.
CHILDREN’S CHOIR
will be rehearsing for Mothering Sunday on Fridays 26 February, 5 and 12 March from 6.15-7pm in Church. If you are in Year 1 or above, do join us! More details from Susannah.
WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
Services will be held at Hampton Hill United Reformed Church in the High Street at 2pm and 7.30pm on Friday 5th March. All – male and female – are welcome to attend.
PILGRIMAGE REVIEW NIGHT
Come and find out what you missed and hear our pilgrims’ experiences in the Holy Land, in Church on Tuesday 9 March at 7.30pm.
NEW GROUP FOR MUMS St James’s Ark invites you to join fellow Mums for a social ‘grown-ups only’ evening on the second Tuesday of each month, starting on 9th March. Meet at The Rising Sun in Hampton Hill High Street (lower end, West side) between 7.30-10.30pm. Buy your own drinks, and food is available if you fancy treating yourself! PARISH QUIET DAY
If you would like to join us on Saturday 13 March 2010 at Alton Abbey for a day of quiet and reflection during Lent, please sign the sheet at the back of church. The day will cost £23 per person, and you are asked to bring your own packed lunch. More details will appear in February’s Spire Magazine.
MOTHERING SUNDAY falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent, 14 March. All-age Communion with Parade for our Uniformed Groups will begin slightly later at 10am, to allow time for The Jays, our Sunday School, to serve the now famous Breakfast before the service. Please come along early so you don’t miss out on this annual treat! There will be a small floral gift for each mother to take home.
MILES FOR MISSING PEOPLE A charity event in Hyde Park on Saturday 13 March. Run or walk 10km to raise vital funds: more details on the poster on the Noticeboard.

You may have noticed some new smart armchairs in amongst the brown chairs in the Hall. These were kindly donated by Jean Western for the comfort of any less nimble members of our congregation who wish to use them: please do! Please take extra care when moving any furniture across the floor – it has just been resurfaced, and needs looking after!
