Forthcoming Events

All Saints Church, Hampton are celebrating their Centenary this year with a Calendar of Events, culminating in a Centenary Service on 16th November. Please remember them in your prayers.

Advent Course
Monday 24 November, continuing on December 1st, 8th and 15th at 7.30pm in Church
‘Prepare the way of the Lord’. Each week we will look at different people in the Bible who prepared the way of the Lord: the Patriarchs, the Prophets, John the Baptist and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Trip to Winchester Cathedral

Saturday 29 November, leaving St James’s 10am and leaving Winchester at 4pm
Spend a memorable day at Winchester Cathedral and start your Christmas shopping at the Christmas Market, go skating on their ice rink, climb the tower, hear the Advent bells or simply sit back and listen to the Cathedral choir practicing for their carol service – something for everyone! Cost (depending on numbers) £20/25 to include return Coach transport and a one hour guided tour of the Cathedral. If you would like to come along add your name to the list on the board in the South aisle of the church or call Liz Wilmot on 8977 9434.

Advent Reflections
Saturday 29 November, 6.30pm at St Luke’s Chelsea
Concordia Voices, musical director Neil Ferris, are singing a selection of Advent music, including music by Lauridsen, Vaughan Williams and Britten. Tickets: £10 (£8 concessions)

Christingle Service
Sunday 7 December, 9.30am at St James’s Church
It’s 40 years since the Children’s Society introduced the services to the Church of England. As ever, it is a wonderful opportunity to bring together children, family and friends, forge stronger links between church and schools and celebrate the Christmas message. Whether you are new to Christingle or one of our regular supporters, this fun and festive event has something for everyone. The service focuses on the candle, representing Jesus the Light of the World. Money raised will help to improve the lives of thousands of children.

Carol Service
Sunday 21 December, 6.30pm in the Church

Christmas Eve Services
Wednesday 24 December, St James’s Church

Join us for the annual crib service at 4.30pm as we mark the birth of Christ.
Later, at 11pm, there is the traditional Midnight Mass.

Christmas Day Services
Thursday 25 December, St James’s Church
Begin Christmas Day by celebrating its true meaning. Holy Communion is at 8am and our Parish Communion follows at 9.30am.

Friday 26 December at 10am, St James’s Church

New Year's Day, the Naming and Circumcision of Jesus Holy Communion
Thursday January 1st at 12 noon, St James’s Church

St James’s Theatre Club
Thursday 12 February, 7.45pm, Richmond Theatre
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers A glorious romp, dazzling dancing and smash-hit songs. The reduced ticket price is £13.
Tuesday 24 March, 7.45pm, Richmond Theatre
The Tempest, Antony Sher heads the cast in this new RSC co-production with Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre Centre, also featuring renowned South African actor John Kani. The reduced ticket price is £17.
