"We would take the opportunity afforded in announcing these Special services to ask for a better attendance. There can scarcely be a more solemn subject for thought than that which compels us to stand face to face with our own future. This is just what Advent does.

It reminds of the stern fact that the Judge will sooner or later come, and that then each one of us must stand before Him, to answer for our lives spent here. Is it not well to be prepared beforehand for that awful day? Will it not be to our profit if attendance at Advent Services should, under God’s blessing, prove to be the means of forcing home to us the real meaning of the great Advent message, and stir us up betimes to prepare to meet our God? The following special preachers have kindly promised their services Thursday, December 4th, the Rev. B. J. WARREN; 11th, the Rev. W. F. REYNOLDS; 18th the Rev. ALLEN EDWARDS."
